Amethyst is a variety of quartz which occurs throughout the world, either in crystalline or massive form. Associated colour ranges from deep purple to pale lavender. The presence of Manganese in clear quartz produces amethyst, while addition of iron content varies the purple colouration.The most common occurrence is a medium purple colour which is found in Brazil.

It facilitates transmutation of lower energies into the higher frequencies of both the spiritual and ethereal levels. It is representative of the principles of complete metamorphosis.
